Having stayed at many cottages & barns throughout the UK this was the best property we have stayed at - location, furnishings and the garden were everything we want in a holiday property. Also the scones and cream on arrival were scrumptious. Paul and Jay have a little gem on their hands with Merrivale Barn.

The cottage is the cleanest, best-equipped house that you can imagine. The location in relation to walks and sights is fine! The owners are very friendly and give you a wonderfully quiet week.

Very clean and modern, cosy feel with very comfortable bed. The owners are lovely, very accommodating, made me some delicious scones made with special ingredients to suit my diet. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Paul and Jay were very hospitable and the cream tea on arrival was very welcome. As it has only been converted a year or so ago, it has a modern feel in an old building. It is a perfect retreat for a couple and has an excellent kitchen and good bathroom. All mod cons are provided with excellent wi-fi and good sized TV.
